More About Inyanda Youth Development Initiative (IYDI)

Founded on the belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive, IYDI is a youth-led, nonprofit organization committed to transforming lives and communities across South Africa. We serve young people between the ages of 12 and 35 through dynamic, hands-on programs designed to build leadership, promote emotional well-being, support academic growth, and strengthen career pathways.

Our model integrates mentorship, practical experience, psychosocial support, and community service to holistically support the growth of each individual. We recognize that no two youth have the same journey, so our services are flexible, inclusive, and culturally grounded. Our work is community-based and youth-driven, with a focus on developing resilient, empowered leaders of tomorrow.
